Molosser Breed Rescue

We have a very large vet bill for Titan...he is an 8 month old male white and blue American Staffordshire Terrier. He was brought to our veterinarian to be eutahnized after he broke his leg jumping off the porch at his owner's home when he was greeting his daddy coming home from work. He has a spiral fracture that has been set but he will need to go back several times over the next 8 weeks to get cast changes. Because he is still a young puppy and he is growing the casts will need to be changed. He is a very sweet puppy that is doing well in his foster home. Right now we are looking at a little over $1000 including his neuter for his total expenses. Please donate towards Titan's fund to help with his continued care!!

Welcome

We are a small privately funded rescue located in Virginia Beach, VA. We pull mostly dogs from death row in shelter from New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. We currently have limited room for owner surrenders as shelter dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized are out first priority above other dogs. Please view our available dogs for their information. If you are interested in adopting a dog from our organization please fill out an adoption application.

This is a list of breeds we currently accept as owner surrenders/shelter pulls:

American Bulldog
American Mastiff
Boerboel (South African Mastiff)
Bullmastiff
Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff)
Dogo Argentino (Argentin Mastiff)
Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff)
English Mastiff (AKC recognized as Mastiff)
Great Dane (German Mastiff)
Neapolitan Mastiff
Presa Canario (Canary Island Mastiff)

If you are interested in learning more about any of the dogs, please look at their information on the Available Dogs page. They would love a home for the holidays with a family of their own!!!

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE WEBSITE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO EITHER FOSTER OR ADOPT.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO ADOPT READ THE ADOPTION PROCESS PAGE, ADOPTION FEES PAGE, ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION. ALL OF THESE PAGES WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOW TO BEGIN THE ADOPTION PROCESS IN ORDER TO ADOPT ONE OF OUR DOGS.

Molosser Breed Rescue is dedicated to taking in dogs that have been abused and neglected and occasionally we take in owner surrenders. We are a privately funded Rescue, which means that we are informal non-profit. As of the moment we are paying for all the dogs care out of pocket. Our dogs are temperament tested by a certified Behavior Modification Specialist. If for any reason they do not pass the temperament test, they will not be taken into rescue. Owner surrender need to be updated on their medical and there are specific requirements to surrender a dog. We are here to ensure that more dogs do not end up in shelters and get euthanized, which is why all of our rescue dogs are spayed and neutered before an adoption is complete. There are instances where puppies under 6 months are placed before being altered but we require an additional deposit, which is returned to the owners upon proof of spay or neuter within 30 days of the puppy turning 6 months old. If we do not get written and oral verification from your veterinarian that the spay/neuter surgery has been done, the deposit will be forfeited and we will come to reclaim our rescue.

Please keep in mind that this is a rescue. We very rarely get dogs that are the model citizen type. Some of the dogs have come from neglectful situations, owners who could not handle the necessities for the breed, shelters and other rescue organizations. In most cases we do NOT have a complete history on the dog, nor do we claim to. If you are looking for a puppy most of the time we will not be able to help you. Puppies are a rarity in rescue, we MIGHT get a puppy under 6 months once or twice a year, if that. If you are looking for a puppy, please look elsewhere.

If you want a dog tomorrow, it is not going to happen that quickly through our rescue organization. We require an adoption application to be filled out, phone interview, vet check, reference check, and a home visit in order to adopt one of our dogs. At this time, if all of the above stated has been complete, an adoption fee and adoption contract are required to complete the adoption. Please be patient, this process can take anywhere from a week to a month.

**PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US ABOUT AN INDIVIDUAL DOG, WE NEED TO HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE FOR YOU IN ORDER TO BEGIN THE APPLICATION PROCESS. WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO ANSWER INDIVIDUAL EMAILS. IF WE THINK YOU WILL BE A GOOD HOME FOR ONE OF OUR RESCUE DOGS WE WILL CONTACT YOU ASAP FOR AN INTERVIEW**

APPLICATIONS CAN BE FOUND ON THE ADOPTION APPLICATION PAGE AND CAN BE SUBMITTED RIGHT THROUGH OUR SITE
